Job description

Job Title: Relief Travel Specialist (BH_Relief_TS)

Location: Gauteng, Johannesburg

Deadline: August 15, 2025

Key Outputs:
  1. Oversee relevant teammates' desks when the consultant is on leave (sick, annual, or educational), managing requotes and ongoing proposals.
  2. Assist with brochure quotes.
  3. Develop agent educational bookings and work closely with Sales to ensure seamless trips.
  4. Assist in system implementation and testing.
  5. Follow up on provisional bookings and dead leads during quiet periods.
  6. Support loading bookings during peak periods.
  7. Design and plan itineraries creatively.
  8. Maintain clear communication with agents, sales teams, suppliers, and colleagues.
  9. Participate in rotational emergency duties as per Retail Emergency BOP.
  10. Work early and late shifts on a weekly rotational basis.
  11. Provide calm, professional service to agents and guests.
  12. Demonstrate an independent, curious, and proactive attitude.
  13. Uphold &Beyond values: Care of people, land, and wildlife.
Knowledge Required:
  1. Passion for service excellence.
  2. Knowledge of Tourplan and Microsoft systems is advantageous.
  3. Good understanding of South Africa, Southern, and East Africa.
  4. Willingness to learn and assist.
Skills Required:
  1. Understanding of terms, conditions, and product knowledge, including third-party and &Beyond destinations.
  2. Familiarity with travel industry channels and markets.
  3. Business strategy and commercial decision-making skills.
  4. Sales methodologies and problem-solving skills.
  5. Teamwork and excellent computer skills (MS Office, Tourplan advantageous, WETU).

  1. Strong interpersonal skills.
  2. Sense of urgency and passion for guest satisfaction.

Previous Work Experience:
  1. Minimum of 3-5 years inbound tour consulting experience.
