Job summary

CFAO South Africa, a key player in the mobility sector, is seeking a Release Clerk to join the Durban team within Toyota Tsusho Africa's Clearing & Forwarding unit. The role focuses on tracking, releasing, and delivery of shipments, requiring Grade 12 and 2–3 years’ release experience.

Applicants should have Customs and Shipping qualifications and be proficient in MS Office. On-site work in Durban with engaging in daily logistics activities and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric is required.
• Customs and Shipping Courses Qualification.
• Computer literacy – MS Office.
• 2–3 years specific Release Experience.

Responsibilities

• On time & Accurate Release Process – from release to delivery with zero additional costs.
• Updating of daily Container list.
• Updating of daily Tracking Register.
• Updating and liaising with warehouse and transporters for a daily container breakdown.
• Requesting of charges – Release, overstay, stops & any adhoc charges required.
• Processing daily payments with correct customer allocations within cut-off times.
• Weekly Finance splits for consolidated shipments.
• Customer updates & tracking – after hour & weekend support when required.
• Accurate Cartage Instructions.
• Request & plan any special requirements for delivery / delivery addresses.
• POP to Forwarders & Shipping lines for collection of DRO’s & Release Letters within cut-off times.
• Request for original bills of lading.
• Setting up release documents with proof of payments – for email & hard copy documents.
• Airfreights – timeous release and deliveries.
• Stop – Customs stops, SAPS stop, border police, port health & any other adhoc stops.
• Updating of all reports and register timeously and accurately, example customs stop register & demurrage report.
• Ensure all standards team procedures are adhered to timeously and accurately.
• Perform any adhoc duties or projects as requested by management.
