Job description

Claremont, Cape Town, South Africa | Posted on 22/05/2026

The Relationship Manager is a key support role within CurrencyPartners’ Cape Town Distribution Team, working closely alongside the Business Consultants to ensure partners and clients receive a consistently high level of service. The role sits at the intersection of operations, client relationship management, and business development support – freeing the Business Consultants to focus on revenue-generating activities whilst the Relationship Manager ensures the engine behind the scenes runs smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, commercially curious individual who wants to build a career in financial services. You will gain deep exposure to the FX industry, develop strong partner relationships, and grow your understanding of how a specialist financial intermediary operates. Over time, this role offers a natural pathway into a Business Consultant position for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and a natural relationship builder who takes genuine pride in doing things properly. You will be the connective tissue between Currency Partners’ internal teams, the Business Consultants, and our partner network.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
  • Support Business Consultants with partner queries, transaction statuses, and day-to-day operational requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses that uphold Currency Partners’ service standards.
  • Manage month-end partner administration, including reconciliation support, statement distribution, and follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Maintain the CRM system with discipline and accuracy – updating contact information, logging meeting notes and key discussion points, tracking follow-up actions, and ensuring overall data integrity so that the team has reliable, up-to-date partner information always.
  • Assist with the coordination and logistics of partner events, including venue liaison, invitations, materials preparation, and on-the-day support.
  • Support the preparation of marketing materials, proposals, and presentations for partner engagements.
  • Proactively build knowledge of Currency Partners’ FX products, systems, processes, and compliance requirements to become a credible and informed point of contact for partners.
Client & Partner Relationship Management
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to partners across the Cape Town region for relationship building, training delivery, and process updates – maintaining a visible, trusted presence within the partner network.
  • Manage and coordinate the quarterly meeting schedule, ensuring all required partner touchpoints are planned, confirmed, and executed on time.
  • Attend client and partner meetings alongside Business Consultants to support relationship development, take notes, and ensure agreed actions are followed up promptly.
  • Deliver partner training sessions on Currency Partners’ products, processes, and platforms, and provide structured follow-ups to reinforce learning and resolve any outstanding questions.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with Currency Partners’ internal support teams – including settlements, compliance, and operations – to ensure seamless partner servicing and quick resolution of issues.
  • Identify and flag potential business development opportunities observed during partner visits or interactions, passing these to the relevant Business Consultant for follow-up.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Matric (essential) plus a completed undergraduate degree – preferably in Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification or additional studies in financial services, investments, or wealth management would be advantageous.
  • FAIS compliant or actively willing to complete the required regulatory examinations (RE5) as part of onboarding at Currency Partners.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a client-facing, sales support, or relationship management role within financial services, wealth management, or a related professional services environment.
  • Experience in or working knowledge of the Wealth and Asset Management industry is advantageous – understanding the context in which Currency Partners’ partners operate will accelerate your effectiveness in the role.
  • Experience managing or maintaining a CRM system, with a strong understanding of the importance of data accuracy in a commercial environment.
  • Entrepreneurial experience or a demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and self-direction is advantageous.
Leave & benefits
  • 18 days annual leave + 1 extra day per year of service
  • 5 bonus leave days at your 5th work anniversary
