Opportunities have arisen for Health Care Support Workers to join our inpatient teams in New Craigs Hospital. We are a 98 bedded mental health hospital providing inpatient mental health care to people within the Highlands; located in the City of Inverness.

Inpatient settings

• IPCU – 10 bedded intensive psychiatric care unit
• Older Adult Acute – 12 bedded assessment ward for over 65’s requiring mental health assessment and treatment
• Adult Acute Admissions – 22 bedded assessment ward for 18‑65 year olds requiring mental health assessment and treatment and 2 inpatient detox beds
• Dementia Care – 24 bedded assessment ward for people of any age with a dementia diagnosis
• High Dependency Rehabilitation – 8 bedded high dependency rehabilitation ward for adults with complex care needs
• LD ATU – 6 bedded assessment and treatment unit for people with learning disabilities who are experiencing an acute episode of mental ill‑health

Whichever inpatient area you apply for, you would be working as part of a highly motivated and encouraging team, who adopt a person‑centred approach to care, always aiming for a positive patient experience of admission.

The successful candidates will be caring and compassionate, motivated, with good communication skills, and able to demonstrate a commitment towards the continued development of patient focused care whilst fostering a therapeutic ward environment. The successful candidates will be provided with all necessary statutory and mandatory training required for this role.

Previous experience in a care setting is desirable as this is a busy and physically demanding post. We require someone who can cope with these demands, work well within a team and has a calm and friendly nature. Full and part‑time hours will be considered.
