SUMMARY :
An established international manufacturer and distributor of agrochemicals is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist responsible for maintaining registration status and fostering relationships with regulatory authorities for new applications. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across South Africa and other African countries, managing documentation, and supporting regulatory processes for import and export activities.

Minimum requirements for the role :
- Relevant tertiary qualification; SACNASP registration is ideal
- In-depth knowledge of Act 36 is essential
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a relevant regulatory environment, either in government or the private sector
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in South Africa and other African countries (e.g., Zambia, Namibia, Botswana)
- Experience with GHS Labelling requirements is advantageous
- Strong communication and public relations skills; ability to work effectively in a team
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
Key responsibilities :
- Ensure availability of the latest Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Prepare and submit registration packages; monitor submissions for new product registrations, label extensions, and changes in SA, Namibia, Botswana, and other countries
- Maintain records of registration application outcomes
- Prepare and submit daughter registrations of products with third parties
- Monitor progress, manage inquiries, and record application outcomes
- Obtain prior informed consent for importation and export of products
- Provide documentation to agents, such as completed application forms, letters of consent, labels, registration certificates, and COAs
- Support documentation for import and registration processes upon request
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, strengthen relationships, and seek regular contact opportunities
- Clarify registration requirements with authorities
- Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory meetings
- Obtain and communicate relevant regulatory information
- Participate in industry meetings, authorities' meetings, and workgroups
- Follow up on inquiries and manage ongoing communication
- Travel as needed to meet authorities and support registration in other African countries
- Collaborate with the Development Manager, National Sales Manager, and external regulatory bodies
