Position: Registered Nurse | Trauma - Life Brenthurst Hospital

A vacancy exists for an Emergency Unit Registered Nurse (Specialized Qualified or Experienced - RNSQ/RNSE) based at Life Brenthurst Hospital, reporting to Dhlamini Moratiwa, Unit Manager. The successful candidate will provide and coordinate evidence-based clinical practices and resources efficiently to achieve the Company’s strategic objectives of Growth, Efficiency, Quality, and Sustainability.

Critical Outputs

    • Delivery of market-leading evidence-based holistic clinical care.

  2. Effective cost management
    • Delivery of cost-effective care within budgetary parameters.
    • Optimal resource utilization, including pharmaceuticals, equipment, and sundries.
    • Management of stock according to policies and protocols.
    • Control and management of labour hours per company policy.
  3. High-quality clinical care
    • Participate in meeting Patient Experience, Clinical, and Safety outcomes targets.
    • Ensure quality management systems and initiatives are followed.
    • Promote a safe and healthy working environment.
    • Enforce infection prevention principles.
  4. Sustainability and stakeholder engagement
    • Establish lifelong partnerships with customers to promote LHC as the preferred hospital.

Requirements
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
  • Postgraduate diploma/degree in Emergency Nursing.
  • Compliance with SANC Scope of Practice and healthcare legislation.
  • At least 1-year post-qualification experience in an Emergency Unit.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS is advantageous.
  • Collaborative team player with leadership skills, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Updated knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and clinical practice.
  • Understanding of pathophysiology, anatomy, and diseases for holistic care.
