Job description

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse (Theatre Qualified) at Life Mount Edgecombe Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the surgical team in performing surgical procedures and ensuring patients receive optimal care in line with hospital objectives.

Critical Outputs

1. Financial Management: Ensure accurate charging, manage theatre clocking time, and control stock and equipment costs.
2. Equipment and Instrumentation: Ensure correct use and educate staff on theatre equipment.
3. Patient Care: Obtain pre-operative patient information, provide post-operative visits, and adhere to safety protocols.
4. People Management: Identify training needs, monitor staff performance, and ensure scope of practice adherence.
5. SHE & Infection Control: Use protective clothing, dispose of waste properly, and comply with ISO standards.
6. Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships through meetings and reporting.

Requirements

• General Nursing Degree/Diploma
• Registration with SANC
• Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing Science
• Relevant theatre experience and technical skills
• Understanding of private healthcare industry (advantage)
• Computer proficiency (advantage)
