Job summary

Naledi-Nkanyezi Private Hospital in Gauteng is seeking a Registered Nurse to promote and deliver quality patient care and wellness in line with industry standards. You will execute nursing duties per SANC and Scope of Practice.

The role requires General Nursing Diploma, SANC registration, and BLS, with surgical ward experience preferred; ACLS/PALS/ATLS advantages are noted. You will support audits and contribute to continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Diploma in General Nursing is required.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council is required.
• BLS qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties in accordance with SANC, DOH and National Core standards.
• Adhere to patient advocacy principles according to SANC Acts, Code of Conduct and Patient Rights Charter.
• Actively participate in internal and external auditing processes (DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, SANC and Risk Audit).
• Document and maintain accurate patient medication files and conduct ward rounds with Doctors to create and evaluate care plans.
• Monitor nursing activities to ensure compliance with protocols, safety, and group policies through regular unit rounds.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will promote and deliver quality patient care and wellness in accordance with industry standards and to execute Nursing duties within the standards, procedures and protocols set down by the South African Nursing Council and Scope of Practice.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in General Nursing.
• Current registration with South African Nursing Council.
• BLS qualification.

Minimum Experience:

• Previous experience in Surgical Ward is essential.

Added Advantage:

• Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS.

DELIVERABLES:

• Perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core standards.
• Adhere to the principles and standards of patient advocacy according to the SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, National Millennium Development goals and the responsibility of continuous professional development (CPD). Supervise, organise, lead and control quality of care work for self and team adhering to therapeutic standards and goals.
• Actively participate in internal and external auditing processes, for example DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, SANC and Risk Audit.
• Document and maintain accurate files and records of patient medication and conduct ward rounds including accompanying Doctors and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing.
• Monitor activities of nurses to ensure compliance with protocols, security, and safety of patient environment, Group Nursing policies and procedures, SANC requirements on findings through regular unit rounds.
