Registered Nurse | Renal Experienced

Introduction

Vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Experienced in the Renal Unit, based at Life Entabeni Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of quality patient care.

Critical Outputs
  • Ensure professional, ethical practice in the unit
  • Provide and supervise nursing care in accordance with legislation that directly and indirectly governs nursing practice
  • Provide and supervise nursing care in accordance with ethical codes that directly and indirectly guide nursing practices
  • Accept accountability and responsibility for own professional actions
  • Ensure the provision of competent, clinical nursing care in the unit
  • Use the scientific process of nursing to initiate and manage comprehensive nursing care plans that will ensure quality nursing care
  • Coordinate and supervise nursing activities of members of the healthcare team who provide basic care
  • Enhance patient satisfaction through quality care and service
  • Utilise available management tools and strategies to improve patient experience, e.g., CFS and Qe
  • Assist in managing patient complaints effectively
  • Build professional relationships with multi-disciplinary team members
  • Cooperate fully with team members and deliver nursing care independently
  • Assist in managing complaints from team members
  • Maintain a safe environment physically and emotionally
  • Utilise management tools and participate in proactive strategies for safety, e.g., SHEQ and infection control
  • Contribute to business efficiency through cost-effective patient care, cooperation, and resource management
  • Supervise adherence to stock management, case management, and billing procedures
  • Coach and mentor staff
  • Assist in staff performance management and development through on-the-job training
  • Participate in staff recognition and reward strategies
Requirements
  • Must be a Registered Nurse registered with SANC
  • Experience in a Renal unit
  • Competencies: team player, energetic, well-organized, punctual
  • Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, respecting confidentiality
  • Flexibility to work hours, call, and acute shifts
  • Driver’s license
  • Understanding of private healthcare industry and its challenges is advantageous
