Job description

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse ICU Experienced in ICU Unit, based at Life The Glynnwood Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager, Elmarie Loots. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic and optimal quality nursing care to critically ill patients to maximize positive outcomes in line with company and hospital strategic objectives.

Critical Outputs
  • Provide quality patient care, including basic and specialized nursing care
  • Maintain continual communication with patients and families regarding patient conditions
  • Administer medication according to ethical and legal frameworks
  • Review and comply with internal policies and protocols
  • Ensure quality management systems are followed
  • Advocate for patients by motivating acuity to case management and notifying doctors of limitations
  • Manage people effectively through team interaction and training
  • Ensure the high care team operates within scope of practice
  • Manage stock and control staff hours and leave
  • Maintain infection control and SHEQ standards, ensuring a safe environment
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders through orientation and execution of doctor requests
  • Ensure equipment functionality and educate staff on proper use
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal and ethical standards
Requirements
  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing
