About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Oversee daily operations of warehousing, inventory management, and transportation logistics for the region.
• Implement and manage advanced inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize stockouts and obsolescence.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and manufacturing teams to align supply chain activities with demand forecasts and production schedules.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and other supply chain partners.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization, implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing remote supply chain team.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on FMCG or retail industries.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale distribution networks and complex logistics operations.
• Expertise in inventory management, demand planning, and warehouse operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment, demonstrating strong self-discipline and time management.
• Familiarity with the South African logistics landscape is advantageous.
