Job Specification

Our client is seeking an experienced Regional SHEQ Manager to join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day HSE support to sites and operating teams within the designated area, including coaching, teaching, and training field personnel on safe operating behaviors.

In order to be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Matric
  • Introduction to SAMTRAC
  • SAMTRAC
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Course
  • Incident Investigation Course
  • First Aid Level 3
  • Legal Liability
  • Valid Driver's Licence (Code 08)
  • Basic fire fighting

The duties of this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Inspect vehicle checklists
  • Follow up on POs for training, inductions, etc.
  • Follow up on payments for training, inductions, etc.
  • Compile risk assessments and method statements
  • Compile environmental aspects and impact risk assessments
  • Update PRA and EIA register
  • Employee inductions
  • Compile lessons learned
  • Conduct contractor inductions
  • Compile safety files for clients
  • Manage improvements and close-outs
  • Incident investigation
  • Report near misses
  • Perform daily depot inspections and verifications
  • Obtain SHE file approvals
  • Source ways to continually improve the system
  • Ensure organogram is updated
  • Complete objectives and targets monthly
  • Ensure legal registers are signed off by relevant employees
  • Manage contractor processes
  • Update external documents
  • Maintain master list of documents
  • Issue permits to contractors and oversee contractor activities
  • Conduct planned task observations
  • Host SHEQ meetings
  • Perform weekly site visits
  • Follow up on all groups (WhatsApp)
