Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, chemicals, and safety protocols (HACCP and SA safety legislation).
• Strong leadership, team-building and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency and scheduling software experience.

About the Role

Our client, a national leader in outsourced cleaning and hygiene solutions, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Regional Sanitation Operations Supervisor to manage and direct cleaning services across multiple sites in and around Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality cleaning services, maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards, and optimizing operational efficiency across the region. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a thorough understanding of sanitation best practices, and a commitment to client satisfaction. This is a key role supporting our diverse client base in the industrial and commercial sectors of Richards Bay.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cleaning teams and site supervisors across various locations within the Richards Bay region.
• Develop and implement efficient work schedules and task assignments to ensure optimal coverage and service quality.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify adherence to company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Train, mentor, and manage cleaning staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively and safely.
• Manage inventory and stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and cost-effective procurement.
• Act as a liaison between clients and the company, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
• Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in service delivery and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with all local and national regulations pertaining to cleaning and sanitation services.
• Prepare regular performance reports for senior management, detailing operational status, key metrics, and action plans.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within the cleaning or sanitation industry.
• Proven experience managing multiple sites and teams in a geographically dispersed area.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, chemicals, and safety protocols (e.g., HACCP, relevant South African safety legislation).
• Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with scheduling software.
• Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region is essential.
• A relevant qualification in Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field is a plus.
• Resilience and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment in KwaZulu-Natal.
