Job description


We are looking for a driven, results-oriented Sales Representative with experience in the construction industry to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and selling construction-related products or services. This role involves working closely with contractors, developers, architects, and procurement teams to meet and exceed sales targets while delivering value-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients in the construction sector.
  • Promote and sell a range of construction materials, equipment, or services (e.g., HVAC, building materials, project management services).
  • Conduct site visits, client meetings, and product presentations.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, tenders, and contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments (e.g., operations, procurement, finance) to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Track project pipelines and manage forecast for future sales.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Provide after-sales support and resolve client queries.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and pricing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in construction-related sales or technical sales environment.
  • Strong network within the construction industry (contractors, architects, developers, etc.) is a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of construction project lifecycles and procurement processes.
  • Ability to read technical drawings/specifications (advantageous).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Matric (Grade 12) required; a diploma/degree in Sales, Business, or Construction Management is beneficial.
