OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
To lead, develop, and guide a sales team to reach the required sales targets by ensuring input and output sales activities are executed effectively, while building strong customer relationships. This role may include the management of Key Customer Groups.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide, lead, and direct a sales team to maintain sustainable customer relationships and optimize sales opportunities.
- Conduct detailed business reviews and offer solutions aligned with customer objectives and environment. Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and monitor their preferences.
- Resolve escalated customer queries in line with company policies.
- Develop, manage, and maintain industry contacts with decision makers and influencers, building strong customer relationships to ensure maximum satisfaction and increased market share.
- Implement and manage sales strategy for your territory, ensuring continuous growth of market share, customer base, and sales targets. Ensure the sales team is aligned and communicated with promptly.
- Implement, monitor, review, and report on special sales initiatives aimed at growing sales with focused clients.
- Maximize productivity and sales effectiveness within a territory by executing sales and marketing plans and promotional activities.
- Develop and grow business for the responsible portfolios by building relationships with wholesalers (where applicable), short liners, and pharmacies.
- Ensure the team has the necessary tools and data to support their duties, including conducting territory analysis and utilizing data from various stakeholders and divisions.
- Lead and direct the sales team to ensure optimal performance levels are reached.
- Maintain forecast accuracy, achieve monthly sales vs. budget, and create opportunities to meet sales budgets at wholesaler and pharmacy levels.
- Achieve growth and meet sales targets by effectively managing the sales team.
- Monitor industry trends to stay updated on market developments.
- Assist sales representatives in identifying opportunities within their portfolios.
- Implement performance plans and objective standards for team members, including interventions, discussions, corrective measures, and coaching.
- Support and guide new employees to align with company standards, objectives, and performance measures.
- Monitor activities of direct reports to ensure execution aligns with company expectations.
- Unite and motivate the team to foster a highly driven environment and share best practices.
- Communicate changes to the team, including sales targets, quarterly line-ups, and other relevant information.
- Manage human resource needs related to recruitment, performance management, and individual development.
- Ensure the sales team complies with all policies and procedures, including regulatory and compliance standards.
- Manage expenses such as vehicle fuel limits, approval of expense claims, sponsorships, training, and meetings.
- Oversee leave management and monitoring.
- Conduct formal and timely disciplinary discussions in accordance with company policies to mitigate risks.
