As a Regional Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for leading strategic sales targeting large industrial and municipal accounts within your assigned geographic territory.
This highly autonomous role requires strong business acumen, planning skills, and the ability to implement strategic sales plans.
Your role is crucial for ensuring high customer satisfaction and presenting Hach's solutions effectively.
You will manage the entire Hach product portfolio, including instrumentation, reagents, and fully integrated solutions and services.
This position is field-based, with minimal office reporting for administrative tasks.
The territory covers the Western Cape, and it is preferable if you are located in the Cape Town region.
In this role, a typical day will include :
Developing sales territory and account plans to achieve targets using SFDC, reporting results and funnel health during weekly reviews with your manager.
Utilize Hach tools and systems to drive growth.
Preparing and presenting monthly forecasts by accurately managing opportunities.
Visiting a minimum of 10 clients per week to drive strategy, solve customer problems, and develop a network of contacts in the water management community.
Understanding the Hach portfolio and applications, including quoting, follow-up, and general sales activities across various applications (WWTW, DW, Power, Oil & Gas, F&B).
The essential requirements :
At least 5 years of experience, preferably in the analytical instrumentation industry as a sales associate.
Preferred degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to work across cultures, countries, locations, and teams.
Willingness and flexibility to travel long distances and stay away from home 2-3 nights per month as needed.
Own vehicle with a Code B driver's license.
