Regional Director of Business Development

Regional Business Development Director – Pretoria

The Role

The Marketing Centre is South Africa's number one provider of fractional CMOs supporting mid-size businesses on a flexible part-time basis.

We are expanding our existing team of CMOs rapidly and seek a Business Development Director to develop the customer base in Gauteng.

The Regional Business Development Director (RD) is responsible for new business development using a consultative sales approach, overseeing the existing small team of CMOs in the region (and recruiting new Marketing Directors and Marketing Managers as demand dictates), maintaining the client base, and developing new strategic relationships.

You will be engaged on an independent limited company contractor basis, home-based, and will be required to travel regularly within the region, with flexible hours equivalent to a 4-5 day a week role.

The Candidate

The position would suit someone who thrives on meeting business owners and helping them solve business issues, has a background as a senior business director (and ideally marketing), which enables them to speak from personal experience.

The candidate will be a self-starting leader wanting responsibility for a 'business unit' (the region) within a flexible framework provided by the central operation.

The Package

The remuneration is based on 10% of the income from the client base you build within the region.

There may be the opportunity to augment this in the early stages of building the regional base by operating as a part-time Marketing Director, if appropriate.

  • Experience of dealing with SME & entrepreneurial business owners
  • Experience with business investors
  • Good understanding of strategic marketing

  • Motivated by winning and achieving results
  • A self-starter, with lots of energy and drive
  • Handling of multiple client relationships, gained as Client Services Director or similar
  • Existing links with the business community in the region
