Requirements
- FSB recognised qualification listed or credits pertaining to the date of first appointment in the industry, as published in the most recent Board notice for recognised qualifications, to fulfill the duties of a compliant supervisor.
- FAIS Key Individual Regulatory Exam Level 1 passed
- FAIS Representative Regulatory Exam Level 5 passed
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- 5 years' sales management experience in a similar role within the life insurance industry
- 4 years' management experience, including overseeing the rendering of financial advice to fulfill the duties of a compliant key individual registered with the FSB, and at least one year in the rendering of financial services
- Understanding of the financial services retail distribution channel business
- Ability to speak African languages or be multilingual (preferred)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement and manage operational plans for the Broker Region aligned with overall business strategy.
- Develop and manage a risk management strategy to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Manage the delivery and implementation of projects impacting the region.
- Identify entrepreneurial opportunities, trends, threats, and environmental influences related to the region.
- Manage regional sales targets and interpret market intelligence to enhance sales activities.
- Reduce wastage through fraud prevention, resource management, and policy claim ratio management.
- Drive adherence to high ethical standards and ensure legislative and internal compliance.
- Ensure efficient client service and administrative processes within the region.
- Monitor and manage Broker Consultants' activities and market access opportunities.
- Utilize segmentation insights and tools to guide FSPs in reaching target customers.
- Oversee the use of the Distribution Management Operating System for monitoring financial performance.
- Develop and oversee sales plans to increase sales opportunities and penetration.
- Track Broker Consultant performance to meet productivity, quality, and sales targets.
- Provide feedback on competitor products and activities to aid product development.
- Maintain current technical product and legislative knowledge to advise clients effectively and ensure compliance.
- Support Broker Consultants in optimizing sales zones and managing poor performance.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality Broker Consultants to meet staffing needs.
- Coach and mentor Broker Consultants to achieve performance standards and career progression.
- Assist Broker Consultants with decision-making through product knowledge and customer focus.
- Complete administrative, client service, and reporting duties within set timeframes.
- Promote compliance and risk awareness throughout the region.
- Maintain the professional image and housekeeping standards of Broker Consultants.
- Approve documentation supporting sales processes in line with business and risk practices.
- Analyze regional profitability and implement improvement plans.
- Report on regional sales performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in external networking, benchmarking, and professional forums.
- Define and implement client service practices to build relationships and provide exceptional service.
- Engage with stakeholders to adapt services to client needs.
- Foster a client service excellence culture.
- Manage new channels for client interaction to enhance service.
