Job description

Hire Resolve is looking for a skilled and motivated Regional Broker on behalf of our client, a well-established company in the insurance and banking sector.

This role is ideal for a professional with strong experience in underwriting, sales, and broker development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business growth, managing client relationships, and ensuring technical excellence across the region.

Responsibilities

1. Sales & Profitability: Achieve targeted sales volumes and underwriting profit. Develop and execute strategies to grow and retain profitable business.
2. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with brokers, clients, and internal teams. Oversee the implementation of service levels and performance expectations.
3. Operational Excellence: Ensure underwriting processes align with governance frameworks and best practices. Monitor and improve service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Leadership & Collaboration: Promote teamwork and a culture of professional collaboration. Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve operational goals.

Requirements

• BCom degree or equivalent.
• AIISA or FIISA designation.
• FAIS compliant.
• Valid Code 08 Drivers License.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the insurance / reinsurance industry, including 3 years in a technical / operational capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of the South African insurance market and regulatory environment.
• Experience in managing distribution channels and broker relationships.
• Proven team leadership and senior management exposure.
• Strong grasp of underwriting and sales in the insurance space.
• High-level compliance awareness and adherence to industry standards.
• Proficiency in relevant IT systems and tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritize, manage pressure, and drive collaborative results.
