Responsibilities

  • End-of-month reporting and General Ledger reconciliation.

Reporting to the Group Accountant, a unique opportunity exists for a dynamic and talented individual to fill the role of Regional Accountant within the Corporate Services Division.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial and Tax Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will manage the company's tax and statutory compliance, month-end reporting, and reconciliations. This role requires a deep understanding of South African tax laws, IFRS for SME, and the ability to provide strategic tax and accounting advice to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting
  2. End-of-month reporting, maintaining and reconciling General Ledger accounts
  3. Preparing disclosures to ensure IFRS and other standards compliance
  4. Assisting external accountants with annual financial statements
  5. Preparing income tax provisions and deferred tax calculations
  6. Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  1. Tax Compliance
  2. Preparing and filing income tax, provisional tax, VAT, dividend tax returns, and other statutory filings
  3. Ensuring compliance with SARS regulations
  4. Managing tax audits and disputes with SARS
  1. Tax Planning and Advisory
  2. Developing and implementing tax-saving strategies
  3. Providing tax advice on transactions and new ventures
  4. Conducting tax research and staying updated with tax law changes
  1. Risk Management
  2. Identifying and mitigating tax and accounting risks
  3. Maintaining proper documentation for all tax activities
