Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of a Regional Accountant for the Gauteng Region. This incumbent will report to the Financial Manager.

The purpose of this role is to play a fundamental role in supervising and managing staff to ensure the alignment of tasks and their performance to the overall objectives of the accounting division. To ensure integrity of accounting records by adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, as well as providing recommendations for improvement.

Your Areas Of Responsibility

• Ensure that all accounting policies/admin, and internal control systems are properly adhered to
• Assist the Regional and Branch Management with all accounting/admin functions
• Prepare monthly financial statements and interpretation thereof
• Prepare monthly management reports
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations
• Manage and supervise the debtors, creditors, and cashbook departments to ensure alignment of tasks and their performance overall
• Train accounting staff at Branch and Regional level
• Authorize and process journals
• Review and authorize reconciliations and payments
• Interpret and write financial reports once month end results are completed
• Prepare quarterly board packs
• Prepare annual budgets
• Monitor performance against budgets and continually re-evaluating forecasts
• Get involved in the financial side of operations
• Ensure that official records are accurately and timeously maintained
• Manage preservation and safe custody of company assets and ensure financial information remains confidential
• Liaise with Internal Audit, Salaries, Legal, Human Resources, Transport and IT Departments at Head Office
• Site visits to branches withing the region
  
  

Qualifications We Are Looking For

• A Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Degree is a MUST
• Completed articles is a MUST
• A minimum of 5 years previous experience as an Accountant in a commercial environment
• Solid understanding of statutory requirements, e.g. VAT, imports, exports
• Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office
• Knowledge of financial system, K8 is an ADVANTAGE
