MAIN PURPOSE

Responsible for the management, development, and performance of Technical and Sales activities in the assigned market.

Directs a technical and sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the company vision and values.

Achieves maximum profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling and supporting the company's products and/or related services.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Leads by example and maintains high standards of conduct.
  • Ensures effective communication between the company and clients.
  • Achieves sales & service quotas in designated strategic accounts.
  • Coordinates involvement of company personnel to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
Sales & Service
  • Responsible for selling and managing company products, services, and solutions within a specific geographic territory.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction and effective stakeholder management.
  • Meets and maintains sales budgets, including net profit, and monitors sales versus budget monthly.
  • Conducts bi-weekly visits to clients within the sales region and maintains a call register weekly.
  • Identifies sales & service opportunities and uses CRM effectively.
  • Offers maintenance contracts, negotiates and closes deals, and generates quotations.
  • Follows up on quotes and outstanding orders, logs opportunities in CRM, and makes calls and visits to customers.
  • Addresses technical questions, ensures no customer complaints, and participates in external product training.
  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships, conducts surveys, and provides competitive pricing.
  • Prepares and submits forecasts, resolves customer issues, and maintains satisfaction scores above 80%.
  • Coordinates sales & service efforts with other teams, updates forecasts, and performs market and product trend analyses.
Administration
  • Prepares bids and quotations, ensures professional presentations, and supports documentation.
  • Uses CRM effectively, manages regional PODs, and monitors stock levels.
  • Schedules customer visits, conducts surveys, and updates SWOT analysis quarterly.
  • Prepares reports on sales, problems, forecasts, and project involvement.
  • Attends meetings, updates stock sheets, and maintains a prospect database.
  • Performs ad-hoc duties as required.
SHEQ
  • Manages SHEQ systems to achieve 85% compliance, promotes a SHEQ culture, and ensures contractor management as per IMS.
  • Demonstrates leadership in QEHS policy, promotes zero-harm culture, conducts SHEQ training, and ensures legal compliance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Matric, degree or recognized diploma in Marketing/Sales or similar.
  • Technical training in Engineering, Mining, or Electronics.
  • 7 years' experience in electronic sales, with 4 years at senior level, preferably in mining.
  • Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Key Accounts Manager.
  • Supervisory skills and knowledge of company products.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
