Job summary

BCE Foods in Gauteng is seeking a skilled refrigeration technician to repair, service and install catering equipment, disassemble and reassemble machinery, and test operation to verify repairs. You will maintain documentation and ensure safety procedures are followed.

The role requires Grade 12, N6 Technical qualification, and trade-tested refrigeration. 1–3 years of workshop experience is preferred; Code 8 licence is advantageous. Strong communication and team skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum educational level.
• N6 Technical qualification required.
• Trade tested refrigeration qualification essential.
• 1–3 years technical workshop/repair experience preferred.
• Code 8 licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts for repair.
• Observe, test operation, diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and tests.
• Reassemble equipment after inspections and repairs.
• Clean, lubricate or adjust parts and machinery as needed.
• Inspect parts for defects or excessive wear.
• Test repaired equipment to verify repairs.
• Provide accurate reports on diagnosis, actions and recommendations.
• Record parts used and order replacements as necessary.
• Ensure excellent customer service and proper documentation before repairs.
• Work standby and overtime as required, and follow all OHS procedures.
