Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join their service team in Port Elizabeth. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring efficiency and reliability of cooling equipment.

Qualifications

Certified Refrigeration Technician with proven industry track record.
In-depth knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems, components and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with various refrigerants and safe handling.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to respond to emergency service calls.

Responsibilities

Install and commission new refrigeration units, including piping and electrical connections.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators and control systems.
Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration and cooling systems, including leak detection and repair.
Service and repair walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases and other commercial refrigeration equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards related to refrigerant handling.
Maintain accurate service records and manage inventory of parts and supplies.
