Trade Tested Refrigeration Technician

Our client and a leader in the catering equipment industry, is looking for a Trade-Tested Refrigeration Technician to join their team in Durban! The purpose of the role is to ensure high-quality maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment while meeting efficiency standards.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

1. N6 Technical Qualification
2. Trade-Tested Refrigeration Certification

Experience:

1. 2-3 years in a technical role (workshop/repairs)
2. Hands-on experience with repairs, equipment assembly & quoting on parts (advantageous)

Skills & Knowledge:

1. Technical repair skills (including refrigeration)
2. Strong communication & customer service abilities
3. Problem-solving mindset & teamwork approach
4. Computer literacy (SAP, Excel, Word, Email)
5. Knowledge of catering equipment (advantageous) & OHS regulations

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty machinery components
2. Disassemble and reassemble equipment for inspections and repairs
3. Test and observe machinery using diagnostic tools (voltmeters, etc.)
4. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts for optimal performance
5. Identify defects such as breakages or excessive wear
6. Verify repairs by testing newly serviced equipment
7. Provide accurate reports on diagnoses, failures, and recommended actions
8. Maintain proper documentation and order necessary parts
9. Deliver top-tier customer service by following processes meticulously
10. Work standby and overtime when required
11. Adhere to OHS standards and handle tools/equipment with care.
