Qualifications

• Trade test: Refrigeration (Commercial or Industrial).
• Valid SAQCC HVAC registration.
• 5 years experience in refrigeration/HVAC.
• Strong preventive maintenance and repair skills for refrigeration/HVAC.
• Troubleshooting skills to resolve mechanical and system issues.
• Electrical knowledge related to HVAC equipment and safe practices.
• HVAC installation, commissioning and servicing expertise.
• On-site construction/industrial experience with safety regs.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals; use diagnostic tools.
• Strong problem-solving, reliability, and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems on site.

Role Description

The Refrigeration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Emalahleni. The technician will install, maintain, and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems in accordance with company standards and safety regulations. Daily responsibilities include performing routine inspections, diagnosing system faults, conducting mechanical and electrical repairs, and completing preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance. The role involves responding to breakdowns, documenting work performed, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other trades to support construction and engineering activities. The technician is expected to follow all health and safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and provide clear communication with clients and colleagues.

• Candidates should possess strong Preventive Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical and system performance issues.
• Candidates should possess solid Electricity knowledge related to refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including safe working practices.
• Candidates should possess HVAC-specific expertise, including installation, commissioning, and servicing of commercial and industrial systems.
• Experience working on-site in construction or industrial environments and familiarity with safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals, use diagnostic tools, and complete accurate service reports.
• Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to project sites as required.
