Job description

Red Seal Millwright Technician required in Hermanus.

My client is looking for a self-motivated, experienced Red Seal Millwright Technician to handle mechanical and electrical maintenance, fabrication, and commissioning of water treatment plants across various sites. This hands-on role includes fault finding, plant servicing, and supervising general workers.

Remuneration: R40 000 per month depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair mechanical/electrical systems and equipment
• Troubleshoot SCADA, PLC, and field instrumentation systems
• Commission new or upgraded plants and manage start-up/shutdown procedures
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and legal compliance
• Supervise tools, equipment, and workshop activities
• Participate in standby, call-outs, and shift work as required

Requirements:

• Red Seal Trade Test – Millwright
• 10+ years’ relevant experience
• Wireman’s license & valid Code B driver’s license
• Matric or NQF Level 3
• SCADA/PLC & field instrumentation knowledge
• Medically fit, comfortable working at heights/in confined spaces
• Strong communication, organisational, and computer skills
