Job summary

Cre8work is seeking a Red Seal Mechanic in Germiston to diagnose, repair, service and maintain vehicles and mechanical equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation.

You will use diagnostic equipment to identify faults, perform routine servicing, tune-ups and brake repairs, conduct road tests and complete accurate job cards and maintenance records while strictly following safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Red Seal / Trade Certificate as a Motor Mechanic.
• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Proven experience as a qualified motor mechanic.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and automotive systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and workshop specifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform servicing on vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct routine servicing and repairs.
• Inspect engines, transmissions, braking systems and other components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential problems.
• Repair or replace defective components and parts.
• Conduct engine tune-ups, oil changes and brake repairs.
• Perform road tests and verify repairs.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Ensure work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety requirements.
• Maintain tools, workshop equipment and workspace in a safe condition.
• Provide technical advice regarding repairs and maintenance.
• Identify additional repair requirements and communicate them to supervisors.
• Ensure vehicles are returned roadworthy.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors and operational teams.
