We're looking for a Red Hat Linux Administrator who doesn't just maintain systems — you own them. From optimizing RHEL environments to automating complex workflows, your work will power mission-critical enterprise operations.

What You'll Do:

  1. Take charge of RHEL 7/8/9 systems: install, configure, tune, and secure.
  2. Own the patching lifecycle, kernel upgrades, and system updates.
  3. Troubleshoot logs, alerts, and performance issues effectively.
  4. Drive high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
  5. Automate tasks using shell scripting and configuration tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
  6. Implement robust security measures with firewalls, SELinux, and audits.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (applications, DBAs, network) for seamless infrastructure delivery.
  8. Proactively monitor and optimize for peak performance and scalability.
  9. Minimum of 35 years' experience working on Linux systems with solid hands-on Red Hat Linux administration.
  10. Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  11. Certifications: RHCSA / RHCE (preferred and admired).
  12. Desirable exposure to:
  • ZVM Systems
  • Red Hat Satellite
  • VMware
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Chef or similar automation/configuration tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and deep understanding of Linux internals.
  • Bash scripting expertise (Python is a plus).
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, and networking fundamentals.
  • Working towards or holding RHCSA and/or RHCE certification.
  • Why This Role Rocks:

    • Work with cutting-edge infrastructure in a high-performance enterprise environment.
    • Make a meaningful impact from day one.
    • Collaborate with elite technical teams on transformative projects.
    • Based in the heart of South Africa's tech capital, Sandton.
