The ideal candidate holds Grade 12, a Diploma in General Nursing, and current SANC registration, with 3–5 years in recovery room settings and private hospital experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Diploma in General Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Recovery Room experience.
• Skilled in all basic nursing procedures and recovery environment procedures.
• Diploma or Certificate in Recovery technique would be advantageous.
• Experience in a private hospital environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Render and promote cost-effective, safe, quality patient care in recovery.
• Assess, plan, execute, and supervise care for patients in recovery.
• Administer and manage medications per company policy.
• Ensure continuity of patient care with thorough handover to theatre and ward staff.
• Maintain infection control and standard precautions in the recovery area.
• Stock management and preparation for procedure lists for the day.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidential information at all times.
