Reconciliation Accountant

Are you a meticulous reconciliation accountant with a passion for asset management?

A leading financial services company is seeking a highly skilled Reconciliation Accountant with expertise in LISP and asset management. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced regulatory-driven environment and has a deep understanding of investment products, portfolio management, and reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reconcile investment transactions including buy/sell trades, dividend payments, fund subscriptions/redemptions, and corporate actions.
2. Ensure accurate portfolio valuation by reconciling asset classes such as equities, bonds, mutual funds, derivatives, and private equity.
3. Perform general ledger reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
4. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external data sources.
5. Collaborate with finance operations and compliance teams to ensure seamless reconciliation processes.
6. Support audit processes by providing reconciled accounts and explanations for variances.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Proven experience in asset management, fund accounting, and financial reporting.
3. Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software such as SAP or DARA.
4. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex reconciliation discrepancies.
5. Ability to manage multiple reconciliations while adhering to strict reporting deadlines.
6. Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements within asset management.
7. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA would be an advantage.
