Job description

We are looking for a fixed-term Receptionist / Switchboard Operator to join our team. The role involves welcoming guests to the estate, guiding them to various outlets, and responding to general enquiries.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure guests are acknowledged with kindness, warmth, and sincerity when entering and departing the reception area.
  2. Engage with guests by providing information about the estate, facilities, and experiences.
  3. Conduct estate tours for guests.
  4. Operate the telephone and switchboard for all calls.
  5. Refer calls and assist as appropriate depending on the call's nature.
  6. Maintain a register of bookings and reservations, and communicate with the Security department.
  7. Compile and update data related to your area of activity.
  8. Distribute information across the estate as needed.
  9. Update the electronic telephone directory.
  10. Communicate lunch and dinner bookings from the restaurant to relevant departments.
  11. Keep management informed of guest concerns.
  12. Hand over and sign for all lost property with the security manager.

Main Requirements:

  1. Grade 12 education; a hospitality certificate is a plus.
  2. Preferably 1-2 years of reception or switchboard experience.
  3. Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
  4. Fluent in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
  5. Ability to work in a team.
  6. Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  8. Availability to work during hospitality hours, including evenings, public holidays, and weekends.
  9. Comfortable dealing with distinguished clientele.
  10. Well-presented and enthusiastic personality.
