Receptionist (6 months fixed term contract with possibility to go perm)

Excellent opportunity for experienced Cape Town-based Receptionist with highly reputable financial services firm! Immediate availabiltiy highly advantageous. Corporate Reception experience/background with managing a busy switchboard preferred.

About the job:
This role is responsible for all front-line support for the head office, and includes handling of all reception, switchboard, and boardroom bookings to ensure that the front-line operations can run smoothly and efficiently, with a strong client services emphasis. Role is ideally suited to applicants with previous switchboard and reception experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reception: welcome of visitors, announcing, ensuring refreshments on arrival
  • Operation of busy switchboard: receiving of all incoming call, relaying of messages
  • Co-ordination of facility bookings (including meeting rooms company vehicle and presentation equipment, etc.)
  • Co-ordination of incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries: receipt and safekeeping of registered mail, and control of internal receipt of same
  • Courier: co-ordinate all courier items to be sent, complete online requests and liaise with supplier
  • High volume general office administration, which is varied, and deadline driven

Key requirements for applicants:

  • Previous experience in similar function & operating a busy switchboard console a requirement, with proven track record (3-5 years)
  • Matric and Intermediate to advanced Computer literacy MS Office suite a requirement (specifically Outlook, Excel & Teams)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, clear and distinct telephone manner
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment
  • Customer services orientation and professional manner a necessity
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of the team & excellent organisational skills a requirement
