Job Title : Retail Receiving Manager

Job Summary : The Retail Receiving Manager oversees the entire receiving process, ensuring that all incoming goods are properly inspected, documented, and stored. This role involves managing the receiving team, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with inventory control and safety standards. The manager is also responsible for optimizing the receiving operations to support the overall efficiency of the store.

Key Responsibilities :

Receiving Operations :

Manage the daily operations of the receiving department, ensuring all goods are accurately received and documented.Oversee the inspection of merchandise for damages, discrepancies, and quality issues.Ensure proper storage and handling of goods to maintain their condition and organization.Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to manage delivery schedules and resolve issues.

Team Management :

Lead, train, and develop the receiving team, ensuring high productivity and adherence to company standards.Schedule shifts and assign tasks to team members to ensure smooth operations.Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork within the department.

Inventory Control :

Ensure accurate recording of all incoming goods in the inventory management system.Work closely with the inventory control team to identify and resolve discrepancies.Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and ensure accurate stock levels.Conduct regular audits of received goods to verify accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Compliance and Safety :

Ensure all receiving operations comply with company policies, health, and safety regulations.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.Conduct regular safety training and enforce adherence to safety protocols among the receiving team.Ensure all equipment in the receiving area is properly maintained and used safely.

Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and the warehouse team, to ensure seamless operations.Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage expectations and resolve issues.Participate in cross-functional meetings to contribute to overall store efficiency and performance.

Qualifications :

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience : 3-5 years of experience in retail receiving, warehouse management, or a related field.Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a retail setting.
  • Skills : Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions :
