Job Purpose: To ensure that picking, receiving, packing, shelf maintenance, manufacturing of stock, and overall housekeeping are done accurately to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving of Stock:
- Record all receiving documentation on the receiving sheet.
- Double-check stock description and quantities against documentation.
- Check for damages.
- If any discrepancies, inform the Branch Manager immediately.
- Make out the Return for Credit to the supplier and ensure it is signed.
- Sign the Waybill from the supplier/courier when all is correct.
- Perform all Goods Receipt Vouchers (GRVs) immediately.
- Make out the Return for Credit to the supplier when required.
- Ensure a second check is done on all stock received.
- Label all stock correctly.
- Ensure stock is put away immediately after labeling each day.
- Liaise with the Branch Manager to arrange for stock to be returned to the supplier.
General:- Assist with IBTs, couriers, dispatching, and customer collections when the IBT Clerk/Receiving Clerk is unavailable.
- Assist in dispatching return for credit items when couriers pick them up.
- Adhere to the Airlock system at all times.
- Keep the marking area in receiving/dispatching clean.
- Assist in other departments when needed.
- Ensure no unauthorized persons are in the back stores.
- Take disciplinary action where needed.
- Report electrical, plumbing, or other issues to the Branch Manager.
- Monitor staff movement in and out of receiving and dispatch cages.
- Ensure all gates and doors are locked at close of business.
- Carry out any lawful and reasonable instructions related to work.
- Assist with stock dispatching, loading, or customer collections.
- Report out-of-stock situations to the Branch Manager.
- Report stock discrepancies to the Branch Manager.
- Assist with stock taking and daily stock counts.
- Ensure back stock cages are packed neatly and kept tidy.
