An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Receiving Officer to ensure the efficient management of goods in a warehouse setting. This role involves verifying deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to safety standards. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that only quality stock is received and properly stored, while also assisting in various operational tasks. The core purpose of the role is to ensure the effective receiving of goods according to company requirements.
Ensure all deliveries are received, checked, and confirmed correctly and timely. This includes receiving stock from suppliers or returns from customers, verifying container deliveries meet quality standards, matching stock colors to standards, monitoring unloading, and reporting damaged or incomplete stock immediately.
Ensure only good stock is received, properly located, binned, and displayed. Binning should be timely, adhering to stacking and storage requirements, with bins labeled correctly. All credits must be checked, recorded, and returned to stock promptly.
Complete all receiving paperwork accurately and maintain up-to-date data systems. Control temporary labor requirements in advance, conduct weekly inductions, ensure PPE is worn, and manage forklift operations, inspections, and maintenance by licensed personnel.
Assist in other operational areas as needed and perform cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy warehouse environment, including sweeping floors.
Adhere to the OHS Act, ensure safety for oneself and others, cooperate with safety requirements, report unsafe conditions or incidents, and comply with safety plans. Conduct quality checks on shipments, ensure packaging standards, and participate in management activities. Report opportunities for improvement, non-conformances, and incidents, while maintaining high customer service and safety standards in the receiving area.
