Job summary

The ideal candidate has a BTech or Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering and over 10 years of experience in the gas industry. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in the gas industry.
  • Familiar with ASME codes and SANS 827 / 829.

Responsibilities

  • Implement regular and accurate gas pipeline inspections.
  • Conduct necessary forms of testing for pipeline assessment.
  • Apply preventative measures to protect gas pipeline.
  • Ensure compliance to ASME code where required.
  • Manage leak detectors teams and network controllers.
  • Explore and apply latest methods on leak detection.

You will be responsible for the upkeep, statutory, condition and integrity of the gas network. The adherence on agreed OWAP and the maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Leak Detection Implement regular and accurate gas pipeline inspections for the entire network.
  • Conduct necessary forms of testing for pipeline assessment.
  • Apply preventative measure to protect gas pipeline.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures related to gas pipeline and network activities are developed, updated and always applied.
  • Ensure compliance to ASME code where required.
  • Manage leak detectors teams and network controllers.
  • Continuous Improvement Explore and apply latest methods on leak detection and monitoring.
