Job summary

A leading construction company in Johannesburg seeks a Project Manager specializing in Renewable Energy. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and over 8 years of industry experience. Responsibilities include budgeting, cost reporting, and managing commercial risks. This role is pivotal in ensuring project commercial aspects are effectively administered, engaging with multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Estimating of MEIP Works in conjunction with the Project Planner and Project Manager.
  • Development of Project CPS (Budget) in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Development of Monthly Cost Reports.
  • Cost vs. Sales Analysis.
  • Ensures consistent cash-flow reporting.
  • Subcontract Administration.
  • Assist with all commercial aspects of the project.
  • Administer the project commercially in accordance with the contract terms.
  • Administer Project risks and inform the Project Manager of any detrimental risks.
  • Update monthly cost tracking tools for precise reporting.

Skills

Industry experience in the Renewable Energy sector
Management of multiple projects
Experience in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation
Conflict avoidance and dispute resolution
Knowledge of contract law
Familiarity with functionally structured organization

Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years industry experience in the Renewable Energy sector, contractor experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing multiple projects.
  • Extensive experience in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation.
  • Proven experience in conflict avoidance, entitlement appraisal, and dispute resolution.
  • Knowledge of contract law and commercial/contracts management.
  • Familiarity with operating in a functionally structured organization.
