A leading company is seeking an Inventory Planner to manage procurement and inventory across various suppliers. The role involves ensuring timely delivery, maintaining stock levels, and reconciling inventories with external contract manufacturers. Ideal candidates must have relevant certification and experience in inventory management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or FMCG sectors.
Key Interfaces : Suppliers, Procurement, Inventory, Marketing Role of this Position : To co-ordinate the movement of Inventory (raw materials, packaging components and finished products) in line with the overall goals and objectives of the department.
Key Responsibilities : Obtain quotations and generate purchase orders for all components / chemicals / finish goods Request order confirmations from suppliers and ensure that delivery dates are acceptable and prices are accurate.
Expedite purchase orders to ensure that all deliveries are received on time, in full at the relevant locations.
Follow up on all administrative issues related to material shortages, corrective action reports, samples requested.
Report on any problems / potential problems related to supply of any material.
Plan production at Contract Manufacturers Manage stock levels at contract Manufacturers Reconcile inventory at contract manufacturers on a monthly basis General admin, filing and maintaining of records Adhere to all Policies and procedures Necessary Qualifications / Experience : Grade 12 and Certificate or Diploma in inventory or procurement management or similar Two years experience as a planner / buyer / expeditor Raw materials experience is essential Experience with inventory management Pharmaceutical, vitamins, supplementary medication, cosmetics or FMCG industry experience is required
