• Strategic supplier management: source, evaluate and onboard high-quality material suppliers and manage vendor performance.
• Contract and cost negotiation: negotiate terms and pricing to drive cost savings without sacrificing quality.
• Streamlined procurement operations: manage purchase order cycles and lead times for packaging and raw materials.
• Optimized inventory control: monitor inventory levels and oversee replenishment to improve turnover and reduce stockouts.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with production, quality control and logistics to align procurement with demand forecasts.
• Issue and risk mitigation: resolve supplier discrepancies and mitigate supply chain disruptions.

Purpose of the job:

To source, negotiate, and purchase essential production materials by collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize supply chain efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Procurement Buyer, with a strong preference for candidates from the manufacturing sector.
3. Systems: Highly proficient in modern procurement software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically Sage

Technical Competencies & Experience:

1. Strategic Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and onboard high-quality material suppliers while maintaining strong relationships and managing ongoing vendor performance.
2. Contract and Cost Negotiation: Negotiate competitive contract terms and pricing agreements, using market trends and benchmarking to drive measurable cost savings without impacting quality.
3. Streamlined Procurement Operations: Manage purchase order cycles and lead times efficiently to guarantee the timely delivery of packaging and raw materials for production.
4. Optimized Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and oversee replenishment processes to improve turnover rates, prevent stockouts, and minimize excess stock.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to align material procurement with demand forecasts and production schedules.
6. Issue and Risk Mitigation: Swiftly resolve supplier discrepancies regarding quality, pricing, or delivery while proactively mitigating potential supply chain disruptions.
