Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated RF Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, analyze, and optimize RF networks, conduct site surveys, and develop propagation models to ensure optimal coverage and performance across cellular, Wi‑Fi, and other wireless systems.

Responsibilities include RF troubleshooting, hardware specification, and cross‑functional collaboration while staying current with RF technologies and reporting findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years' RF engineering experience focused on wireless networks.
• Strong RF fundamentals: propagation, antennas, and digital comms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize RF networks, including cellular (4G/5G), Wi-Fi, and other wireless systems.
• Conduct RF site surveys, drive tests, and post-processing analysis to evaluate network performance.
• Develop propagation models and interference analysis for optimal network planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related issues, ensuring high-quality signal strength and coverage.
• Specify RF hardware, including antennas, base stations, and transmission lines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions with core network components.
• Stay current with RF technologies, standards, and best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on RF design and performance.
• Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades and capacity expansions.
• Participate in the development and testing of new RF technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in RF engineering, with a focus on wireless networks.
• Strong understanding of RF principles, propagation, antenna theory, and digital communications.
• Experience with RF planning and optimization tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet).
• Proficiency in using RF measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators).
• Knowledge of cellular technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G NR) is essential.
• Familiarity with network simulation and modeling software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
