Tracker requires the services of a Radio Frequency Network Engineer in our Product Performance Department.
We are seeking a diligent and driven individual to join a high-performing team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor the existing radio frequency network to ensure maximum availability with minimal downtime.
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade high sites and repeater sites within the radio frequency network.
- Identify areas with inadequate RF coverage in consultation with Network Planning Personnel and commission new sites accordingly.
- Implement and manage a preventative maintenance plan specific to the radio frequency network.
- Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade telemetry field units used for testing customer vehicles.
- Manage inventory control for various radio frequency network components.
- Oversee configuration control, engineering change procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure all fixed assets related to the network are maintained in a serviceable condition.
- Complete work in a cost-effective manner.
- Liaise with internal and external customers regarding radio frequency network issues.
- Assist with new developments and modifications of the radio frequency network.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or B-Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current).
- Minimum of five years' experience in a telecommunications environment.
- Technical knowledge of RF systems, communication systems, and antennas.
- Strong fault-finding and analytical skills.
- Good administrative skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in Linux, MS Windows, and MS Office.
- Self-starter attitude.
- Fall Arrest certification is advantageous.
