We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive R&D Lab Technician to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will support research and development efforts focused on creating, testing, and improving agricultural products. This position involves working closely with scientists and engineers to conduct experiments, analyse results, and contribute to the advancement of sustainable agriculture solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of laboratory experiments focused on crop protection, soil health, and plant nutrition.
- Prepare and handle samples, perform chemical analyses, and record data related to the development of agricultural products.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all experiments, procedures, and findings, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
- Calibrate, operate and maintain a variety of laboratory instruments and equipment, including spectrophotometers, chromatographs, pH meters, and balances.
- Analyse data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior scientists and management to guide product development and improvement.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, good laboratory practices (GLP), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a clean and organised lab environment.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D scientists, production engineers, and field researchers to support project goals and timelines.
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring the lab is adequately stocked for ongoing research projects.
- Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Biology, Agronomy/ Horticulture, Plant Physiology, Botany, or a related field.
Experience
- 1-3 years of laboratory experience will be advantageous.
Other specific requirements
- Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
- Own transport
