A leading consulting firm in Cape Town seeks a Professional Quantity Surveyor to join their Quantity Surveying department. You will engage with Architecture and Engineering teams, perform financial evaluations, manage cost control, and ensure quality assurance in projects. Candidates must hold a BTech/BSc in Quantity Surveying, be professionally registered, and have extensive experience in the field.

Overview / Description

The position is for a Professional Quantity Surveyor at a multi-disciplinary consulting firm. The successful candidate will form part of the Quantity Surveying department and will have regular interaction and collaboration with the Architecture and Engineering departments.

Requirements

Role and Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate design documentation
  • Prepare preliminary & detailed estimates
  • Formulate bills of quantities & contract documentation
  • Financial evaluation of tenders
  • Administer cashflow forecasts, cost reports, variation orders, valuations, contractual claims, etc.
  • Prepare & negotiate final accounts
  • Attend meetings
  • Formulate, review and analyse repair estimates
  • Prepare viability studies, damage costings & determine value at risk
  • Liaise and cooperate with multi-disciplinary teams (Project Managers, Architects, Engineers & Quantity Surveyors)
