Overall responsibility for the quantity surveying function and the commercial performance of all allocated contracts, including maximising working capital at a contract level.
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible, in conjunction with the Civils Operations personnel, for the financial management and performance of all allocated contracts (including measurement, valuation, payment, and reporting).
The QS has a responsibility to ensure that revenue is promptly applied for and collected in line with the terms of the contract.
Provide support to the Commercial department in pre-contract and tender activities.
Negotiate and agree on terms & conditions for contracts & sub-contracts awarded to Heidelberg Materials Contracting (including liaison with in-house and external legal advisors).
Establish financial management and control systems for contract execution.
Involve in procurement and engagement of sub-contractors and suppliers, including defined responsibilities and terms and conditions.
Manage revenue, cost, cash collection, and the reporting function during the life of all allocated contracts, in line with company requirements.
Review and check payments made by the customer, including monitoring due dates for payment (including maintenance periods & staged payments).
Prepare and agree on subcontractor payment certificates for allocated contracts.
Produce financial and commercial reports and forecasts as required for the Civils Chief QS and others as directed.
Report on unsafe practices observed when visiting sites.
Have knowledge of statutory requirements governing the company’s work (including health & safety) as applicable to their scope of work.
