Job description

• Experience : Minimum 3 years in the Construction / Engineering Industry
• Qualification : Minimum of a Diploma in one of the following :

o Quantity Surveying

o Construction Procurement

o Construction Finance

o Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or Civil)

o Construction Supervision / Management

• Location : Cape Town Harbour
• Contract Period : 12 Month Contract (extension based on performance and client requirements)
• Salary : R 18,000.00 - R28,000.00 Gross
• Project Specific Working Hours : 07 : 00 – 19 : 00 including weekends and public holidays (projects range from 40 to 90 days) x 3 per year

Responsibilities :

• Assist in Final Account verification (check contractor quotations against contract rates)
• Set up enquiry BOQ's from a scope of work
• Adjudication of tenders
• Prepare Contract BOQ's
• Administer Contract Variation Orders
• Conduct site measures
• Process interim payments
• Prepare engineering estimates

Competency in Software :

• MS Office 2013 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) - Required
• WinQS – advantageous, not a requirement
• DimX – advantageous, not a requirement
• SAP - advantageous, not a requirement
• Experience with accounting software (SAP, Pastel, Sage, etc.) - advantageous, not a requirement
• Estimating software- advantageous, not a requirement
• Adobe- advantageous, not a requirement Requirements :
• Deadline-driven
• Willingness to learn and build on existing experience

Additional Information :

• Overtime and weekend work is mandatory and will be compensated
• No medical aid or pension provided
• Contract renewal based on performance and company needs
• Candidate to have no criminal record or pending criminal cases against them
• Successful Candidate to undergo police clearance check
• Successful Candidate will be subject to random drug testing during employment
