Position Overview :

Experience : Minimum 3 years in the Construction / Engineering Industry

Qualification : Minimum of a Diploma in one of the following :

1. Building Estimating
2. Quantity Surveying
3. Construction Procurement
4. Construction Finance
5. Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or Civil)
6. Construction Supervision / Management
7. Engineering Estimation

Location : Cape Town Harbour

Contract Period : 12 Month Contract (extension based on performance and client requirements)

Salary : R 18,000.00 - R 28,000.00 Gross

Working Hours :

1. Normal Working Hours : 07:00 – 15:00
2. Project Specific Working Hours : 07:00 – 19:00 including weekends and public holidays (projects range from 40 to 90 days) x 3 per year

Responsibilities :

1. Assist in Final Account verification (check contractor quotations against contract rates)
2. Set up enquiry BOQ's from a scope of work
3. Adjudication of tenders
4. Prepare Contract BOQ's
5. Administer Contract Variation Orders
6. Manage enquiries for tender purposes
7. Conduct site measures
8. Process interim payments
9. Prepare engineering estimates
10. Perform cost reporting

Competency in Software :

1. MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) - Required
2. WinQS – advantageous, not a requirement
3. DimX – advantageous, not a requirement
4. SAP - advantageous, not a requirement
5. Experience with accounting software (SAP, Pastel, Sage, etc.) - advantageous, not a requirement
6. Estimating software - advantageous, not a requirement
7. Adobe - advantageous, not a requirement

Additional Information :

• Overtime and weekend work is mandatory and will be compensated
