Job description

Hire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator to join a reputable company in Cape Town in the built environment industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of construction projects, managing costs throughout the project lifecycle, and providing cost advice and analysis to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Preparing and presenting detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, and equipment
  • Conducting site visits to gather necessary information for cost estimation
  • Monitoring project costs and implementing cost control measures
  • Providing cost advice and analysis to project stakeholders
  • Preparing and reviewing project budgets
  • Collaborating with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project cost objectives are met
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cost estimation and management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional registration and Facilities Management experience is preferable
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost estimation, preferably in the built environment industry
  • Estimation from first principals and good Excel proficiency is required
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and technologies
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
