About the job: Quantitative Business Analyst

Key purpose:

The Quantitative Business Analyst is responsible for designing, specifying, building, configuring, and testing solutions that provide the necessary capabilities to the business. These solutions include pricing and risk management tools, along with related IT processes, maintenance, testing, and support for the front office applications within Markets.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Construct and critically analyze financial models such as product pricing, curve stripping, and scenario analysis.
  2. Design, analyze, test, and troubleshoot processes related to pricing and risk analysis.
  3. Assess system capability and fit in the context of pricing and risk analysis.
  4. Analyze data to identify problems, reason logically, and draw valid conclusions.
  5. Analyze, design, and implement purchased or in-house software applications.
  6. Test and validate logic and processes implemented.
  7. Share ownership of recurring production incidents, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve system issues.
  8. Participate in weekly production support rotations with the team.
  9. Engage with macro-environment trends to identify new opportunities and capabilities that add value.
  10. Recommend process improvements to enhance value and benefits.
  11. Participate in team and cross-disciplinary collaboration sessions to understand the working environment.
  12. Engage with stakeholders to understand business changes impacting technology demands.
  13. Review demand items with the business to understand impacts on systems and processes.
  14. Partner with process owners to develop roadmaps for business development and system enhancements.
  15. Test and identify service gaps when applying different technologies or implementing business process changes.
  16. Analyze business requests to translate requirements into technical specifications.
  17. Consolidate knowledge articles and training materials.
  18. Develop and share service packs for stakeholders.
  19. Coordinate integration activities of service providers.
  20. Monitor benefits against the business case and measure outcomes.

Qualifications and experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in quantitative, risk, and business analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets is essential.
  • Experience with markets and investment banking.
  • Familiarity with relevant systems; technical background is a plus.
  • Minimum relevant degree; post-graduate qualification in Mathematical Finance or related field required.
  • Certifications such as FRM, PRM, ACI Dealing Certificate, CFA are beneficial.
  • Experience in designing and implementing integrated solutions and quantitative systems in Capital Markets.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of multi-asset classes and trade lifecycle is advantageous.
  • Skills in business process modeling and data validation.
  • Attention to detail with a strategic perspective.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with assertiveness and persistence in a front office environment.
  • Deep interest and awareness of financial markets.
