Job description

To contribute to the development and maintenance of best practice models and assessment strategies in line with regulations (where applicable) in order to facilitate world-class risk management.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys, etc.).
  2. Research and make recommendations for corporate citizenship initiatives in your area of influence.
  3. Participate in and support corporate responsibility initiatives to achieve business strategy (e.g., Green Strategy).
  4. Identify opportunities to improve business processes, models, and systems by recommending effective operational enhancements that add value to Nedbank.
  5. Develop differentiated, superior solutions (solution engineering) that meet stakeholder and business requirements through thorough analysis.
  6. Ensure product and/or solution designs align with business specifications and meet stakeholder requirements in a timely manner.
  7. Engage with the business through face-to-face interactions and participation in forums and committees to meet their needs.
  8. Assist the business in addressing queries by extracting and analyzing data, performing ad hoc analyses, and monitoring data as per client specifications.
  9. Document and record processes and models to ensure continuity and build knowledge base.
  10. Provide insights that enable growth through analytical research, systems, and marketing insights by delivering results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  11. Ensure compliance with policies through data analysis and monitoring; create efficiencies and streamline processes through analysis.
  12. Bridge operational and analytical concepts through effective communication to establish process understanding.
  13. Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit plans, ensuring system, process, service, and solution alignment.
  14. Enhance personal capabilities and stay updated with developments in the field by identifying relevant training and career progression opportunities.
  15. Ensure personal growth and effectiveness by completing all learning activities, gaining experience, and obtaining or maintaining relevant certifications within specified timeframes.
  16. Share knowledge and industry trends during formal and informal interactions to facilitate skilling and corrective actions.
  17. Obtain buy-in for developing new or improved processes by highlighting benefits to stakeholders, supporting implementation.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
  • 4-year degree majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, IT, Science, or Engineering
Minimum Experience Level
  • 1+ years relevant Analyst experience working with Credit Models or Scorecards
  • High proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, PowerBI, MS Office
  • Experience in data handling, analysis, and automation
  • Experience working with operational teams
  • Experience presenting to diverse stakeholders
  • Credit Risk experience is preferable
